About Films for Change
Since 2014 we've put independent documentaries in front of people who want more from their screen time. First in screening rooms, now on any device. Ad-free, independent and impact-first.
Our story
Films for Change began in 2014, when co-founders Kym Staton and Natalia Minana started hosting live documentary screenings in Sydney. The idea was simple: put films that matter in front of people, then give them room to talk about what they'd just seen.
Those nights grew into a screening tour across 90 cities, with more than 10,000 people coming through the doors. Audiences kept asking the same question: where can I watch more films like this? So we built them a home online.
Today Films for Change is an independent streaming platform with 500+ documentaries on climate, health, human rights, First Nations voices and conscious living. No ads. No outrage algorithm. No corporate owner deciding what you get to see.
We make films too. The Trust Fall: Julian Assange, directed by Kym Staton, is a Films for Change Original.

We're funded by members, not advertisers. That keeps the library honest and your attention your own.
First Nations storytellers, whistleblowers, scientists and communities that mainstream programming tends to leave out.
Every film is chosen because it can shift how you think, live or act. Positive change begins with knowing what's really going on.
A small, independent team keeping the library growing, the films reaching the right people, and members looked after.
